We want to expand our Data Science function further within my well‑established, data‑driven Centralised Analytical department. Our mission is to build machine learning models in production environments for Marketing, Customer Insights and Safer Gambling, and to establish a strong culture of data‑driven decision‑making in our organisation.

We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to support the delivery of ML products. You will work closely with the Data Science team to understand data and product requirements, collaborate with the Data & Ops team, stay on top of key changes that may impact ML frameworks, and own the release of ML products. Azure Databricks is our platform.

To be successful, you should have experience in cross‑team collaboration to deliver data science projects, promote best practices, identify and communicate data‑related issues, and act as the interface between Data Science and Data & Ops teams.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the ML data pipeline with proper quality controls and contingency plans.
  • Deploy and serve models, ensuring alignment with internal best practices and high automation.
  • Control costs by maximizing efficiency of data production and solution deployment.
  • Collaborate across teams and communicate key elements that impact the well‑functioning of ML solutions.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., IT, STEM, Maths, Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of data modelling, software engineering, and ML packages and frameworks.
  • Skilled in writing well‑engineered code using Spark, advanced SQL and Python.
  • Experience with Azure Databricks.
  • Proven track record of working with Data Scientists to deliver best‑in‑class solutions for model deployment and monitoring.
  • Excellent technical and communication skills with a high degree of proactivity.
  • Passion for learning and keeping abreast of new technologies and data models.
