Job Description:

Despatch Supervisor – NIGHT SHIFT

12 hour shifts, 4 On 4 Off. 6pm – 6am. Competitive Salary.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop your team to work safely, effectively and efficiently to service customers with the best possible product.
  • Follow and develop processes to ensure customers receive the correct product on time and in full.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement; empower your team to improve performance, increase and maintain quality, reduce waste and deliver department KPIs.
  • Communicate effectively to both your team and stakeholders, including Hygiene, Technical, Engineering, Stores, Production, Finishing, Drivers.

Technical

  • Rotate stock to ensure availability for the outbound team.
  • Label stocks with correct information.
  • Visually check that products are produced to specification when receipting stock.
  • Ensure GMP standards are met and the warehouse is always audit‑ready.
  • Take an active role throughout audits and high‑profile visits.

Team Leadership, Management & Development

  • Communicate with your shift manager, production and finishing teams.
  • Fit for purpose processes which are reviewed regularly and updated as required.
  • Keep training matrix up to date and audit ready.
  • liaise with agency suppliers and give feedback on performance.
  • Minimise waste.
  • Lead and develop your team of inbound warehouse operatives.
  • Ensure all communication is delivered accurately and timely.
  • Handle HR/People tasks such as completing return‑to‑work procedures and 121 meetings.

Paperwork

  • Ensure all paperwork is completed on time and in full.
  • Record all information throughout the working day.
  • Use software to transfer stock between sites.

Stock Management / Service Level

  • Ensure product is unloaded in a timely fashion and dates are checked to ensure correct stock labeling.
  • Responsible for the despatch warehouse, keeping the area clean and free from any health and safety risks.
  • Generate labels with correct information to ensure accurate stock rotation.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar environment (Goods In/Stores/Warehousing).
  • Understanding of WMS systems.
  • Previous experience managing a team.
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Enthusiasm and tenacity to work and achieve goals.
  • Good organisational skills, ability to plan own time and prioritise tasks (and those of your team).
  • Ability to work to high standards, driving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to take initiative and cooperate with decision‑making processes.
