The Customs and Foreign Trade Tax Manager (“Manager”) leads a team of Consultants to identify tax savings opportunities and undertake compliance consultancy for clients. The Manager maintains existing client relationships and focuses on state and local tax recovery. This includes researching tax issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop client workplans and schedules associated project deliverables.
- Prepare and conduct client presentations.
- Travel to client locations to gather and copy tax returns, invoices, purchase orders, and other documentation to use in the audit refund process.
- Review and reconcile client data downloads and identify tax issues to research.
- Assist with client billing and financial forecasting.
- Negotiate tax resolutions with state agencies.
- Respond to client inquiries and requests from state agencies.
- Manage complex customs and foreign trade tax projects, including audit defense, managed audits, managed compliance, reverse audits, and tax recovery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or equivalent in Accounting and/or Finance and four to six years audit or tax related experience.
