Fire Extinguisher Engineer- Covering Yorkshire & Manchester- £24,000- £38,000 Per

Compensation & Benefits

  • £24,000 basic salary
  • 5% commission on each completed job (based on invoice value)
  • Average annual earnings: £36,000 – £38,000+, with potential to exceed depending on performance
  • Additional bonus opportunities available through annual performance review
  • Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:00
  • 20 days annual leave + bank holidays + 3 additional Christmas shutdown days
  • Covering Yorkshire & Manchester areas
  • Company van provided (business use)

Fire Extinguisher Engineer Role Overview

We are currently on the look out for a Fire Extinguisher Engineer to carry out the servicing, maintenance, and installation of portable fire extinguishers across a range of client sites. The role is field based and involves working independently as well as within a small team, ensuring all work is completed in line with current fire safety regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and install portable fire extinguishers in accordance with BS 5306 standards
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service visits
  • Complete accurate certification, service records, and compliance documentation
  • Ensure all work meets current fire safety regulations and company quality standards
  • Provide a professional and customer-facing service on client premises
  • Manage and maintain stock and equipment within the company vehicle
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding completed works and recommendations
  • Support occasional working away assignments as required (typically 2–3 days per month; some months this won’t be required) with all travel, accommodation, and meal expenses covered
  • Maintain strict adherence to health & safety procedures at all times

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in fire extinguisher servicing or fire protection engineering
  • FIA qualifications (or equivalent) desirable, though training can be provided
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Confident communication and customer-facing skills
  • Full UK driving licence required
