Overview
BCP Council is looking for a motivated SEND Quality Assurance and Development Manager to drive improvement across our SEND services. This is a high‑impact leadership role that reports to a Service Manager or Head of Service. The role offers a starting salary of £48,226 pro rata for part‑time colleagues and full‑time hours of 37 per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight of SEND quality assurance, the SEND Local Offer and co‑production.
- Oversight and development of the SEND Local Offer, ensuring it is accurate, accessible and informed by lived experience.
- Facilitate meaningful co‑production with parents, carers, children and young people.
- Oversee SEND quality assurance activity and use findings to drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor, analyse and report performance to senior leaders.
- Lead improvement projects and multi‑agency working across the SEND partnership.
- Provide management oversight, direction and support within your area of responsibility.
- Contribute to service and improvement planning across SEND.
Qualifications and Experience
- Substantial experience in SEND or a comparable statutory or multi‑agency environment.
- Strong analytical and performance management skills, with an ability to spot themes, risks and systemic issues.
- Experience of driving service improvement through insight, collaboration and influence.
- Strong understanding of SEND statutory duties and processes.
- Proven experience of meaningful co‑production with children, young people and families.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and produce high‑quality written and verbal reports.
- Confidence working across organisational boundaries, influencing at senior level, and translating complexity into clear, actionable improvement.
Requirements
