Role Overview

Are you a determined administrator seeking your next challenge? The Faculty Assistant provides a broad range of administrative support, including acting as the course administrator for teaching in degree and other programmes. You will assist assigned faculty while working closely with members of the administrative team, within and outside the department, to provide a high‑quality experience to students, faculty and staff.

During the probation period this role requires on‑site attendance for four days per week. Thereafter, you will work on‑campus three days per week. You may be required to work some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality support to all stakeholders (faculty members, Subject Area Manager, colleagues, students and external stakeholders)
  • Produce high‑quality materials timely and accurately
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date diary
  • Respond to and resolve enquiries, requests and issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data in business systems
  • Develop relationships within and outside the team, and receive positive feedback from colleagues
  • Comply with processes, procedures and standards
  • Maintain accuracy of financial records
  • Contribute to process reviews and operational improvements

Qualifications

  • Confident IT user with competence in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to providing outstanding customer service
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • IT literate and proficient in the use of databases, spreadsheets, Word and the World Wide Web; training will be provided on in‑house systems
  • Experience working in an international environment and sensitivity to cultural issues
  • Skilled at managing a busy workload, prioritising multiple deadlines, and demonstrating initiative
  • Proven ability to interact successfully with individuals at all levels, including senior executives, support staff, and working both within a team and independently

Work Arrangement

We support Smart Working – a hybrid approach that helps you achieve a healthy work‑life balance while delivering the best outcomes for your role and the needs of our customers. All roles require a minimum of two days on campus each week; for this role you will be on campus four days during the probation period and thereafter three days per week, plus business needs. We operate with core hours (10:00‑15:00) to maximise opportunities for connection and collaboration across teams. Outside of these hours, you may still be required for meetings or collaboration based on your role and customer needs. Additionally, Protected Time – a flexible one‑hour slot within the working week – is dedicated to learning and development, wellbeing or focused quiet work.
