Engineering Manager – Application Platform Team

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Application Platform Team. The role combines strong technical expertise with people leadership to deliver high‑quality, production‑ready solutions. You’ll bring hands‑on experience across modern engineering stacks, work closely with platform, product, and data teams, and support engineers at different levels to foster a collaborative, high‑performing environment while ensuring best practices around code quality, reliability, and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Guide and lead engineering teams to deliver scalable, production‑ready systems.
- Collaborate closely with platform, product, and data teams to define and ship solutions.
- Drive and uphold best practices in code quality, reliability, and delivery.
- Mentor and develop engineers across experience levels, fostering a collaborative culture.
- Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines, observability, and multi‑cloud readiness.
- Manage cross‑functional engagement and support Agile practices.
Qualifications
- Comfortable with cloud‑native environments such as Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps.
- Proven experience shipping production code, ideally in cloud environments.
- Strong CI/CD knowledge (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Octopus, etc.).
- Prioritises code quality, testing, and standards.
- Familiar with Kubernetes patterns, ArgoCD, secrets management, multi‑cloud (GCP/Azure).
- Good understanding of observability and what “good” looks like in production.
- Experience managing engineers and supporting team growth.
- Strong communicator able to engage technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Encourages knowledge sharing through pairing, documentation, etc.
