About the team

The Payment Performance Team focuses on ensuring payments succeed and generates higher revenues for our merchants by maximizing conversion rates and minimizing fraud rates. The role utilizes ML and smart rules, and an experiment-driven approach to achieve gradual improvements.

You will collaborate with MLEs, back‑end engineers, front‑end engineers, and data scientists to innovate and maintain Checkout.com as a best‑in‑class provider.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Go.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong grasp of software development principles in a back‑end environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with stakeholders.
  • Experience working in agile environments and delivering high‑quality code under tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • AI proficiency or curiosity, eagerness to adopt emerging technologies.
  • Payments or financial domain knowledge is a plus but not required.

How you’ll make an impact

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including product management—to define and design loosely coupled, scalable systems in a microservices environment. Keep up‑to‑date with cutting‑edge technologies, share knowledge, and write clean, maintainable, testable code for Checkout’s most impactful systems. Own and operate your systems to ensure high resilience and service levels.
