We’re seeking a talented Senior Structural Engineer to join our client’s expanding York team. In this role, you’ll lead the design and delivery of standout residential and commercial projects, making a tangible impact on the built environment.

The role:



  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes at every stage.

  • Deliver projects across industrial, residential, retail, commercial, and healthcare sectors, meeting Building Regulations and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to develop well‑coordinated design solutions.

  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, upholding the company’s reputation for quality and reliability.

  • Undertake structural inspections and assessments of new and existing properties, applying expertise in concrete, steel, timber, and masonry.

  • Carry out structural analysis and design using industry-standard software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds), producing accurate drawings, reports, and technical outputs.

  • Prepare clear, professional documentation including structural survey reports and design deliverables.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering growth and contributing to team development.


What you’ll need to succeed:



  • Proven ability to manage projects independently, from concept through to delivery.

  • Strong technical knowledge of both new-build and refurbishment structures.

  • Experience working with a variety of materials: steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.

  • A supportive approach to mentoring junior engineers and technicians.

  • Proactive, hands‑on mindset with a passion for high-quality structural design.

  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence working alongside clients, architects, and contractors.

  • Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Tekla, Tedds, ETABS, or similar).

  • Chartered (IStructE or ICE), or close to achieving chartership with clear progress.

  • Degree-qualified (MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering, or equivalent).
