An outstanding individual is sought for the role of Training Programme Director – IMT (West).
The post is available on a secondment arrangement to NHS England and will be remunerated by Education Management Contribution (EMC) in line with TPD sessional payments. Compensation is £10,000 per PA – 2.5 PA (10 hours per week).
The Training Programme Director works with the Head of School to lead the delivery of a wide range of educational and training functions aligned to the NHS England mandate. The role is professionally and managerially accountable to the Head of School and focuses on learner supervision, assessment, faculty engagement, educational outcomes, workforce transformation, and innovative curriculum delivery.

Delivering Results / Functional Responsibilities
- Ensure high standards of education and training as defined by the General Medical Council and other national bodies for training posts and educational programmes in Yorkshire and the Humber.
- Commit to national vision, policies and processes for effective educational quality management.
- Meet objectives within budget and contribute to budget savings when required.
- Adhere to Code of Practice guidelines.
- Provide accurate guidance to trainees on OOP/IDTs/LTFT/acting-up applications.
- Implement the NHS England Quality Framework and Education and Training Quality Improvement and Performance.
- Recruit and manage training posts and programmes, including assessments, progression, rotations, support, remediation, OOP management, traineeship management, careers support and related workstreams.
- Attend School meetings and other relevant meetings.
- Ensure compliance with procurement and procurement requirements.
- Develop educational programmes to support curriculum competency achievement.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Primary medical qualification or on the Specialist Register.
- Membership or Fellowship of a College, Faculty, Professional Association and/or Regulatory Body.
Experience
- Experience of working with learners or doctors in training within an educational context.
- Experience of clinical and educational leadership.
- Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education.
Skills
