About the Unit
CPGs CIU Rehab, Re‑enablement and Recovery unit is a bed‑based facility supporting people to recover and regain independence following illness, trauma, surgery, or a significant event. It supports hospital discharges, prevents admission to hospital or long‑term care and promotes independent living. It is a multi‑disciplinary service with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers and care staff.

Salary
£45,987 – £52,434 per annum.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursing team, including recruitment, supervision, probation reviews, disciplinaries, staff risk assessments and PDRs.
- Lead the review, development and implementation of service strategies, including completing audits, action plans, incident reviews and quality assurance activities.
- Provide nursing and enablement services to patients within the rehab and recovery inpatient unit, assessing complex and specialist needs and developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care to support patients in community settings.

Skills & Knowledge
- Ability to liaise with external agencies on behalf of Care Plus Group.
- Knowledge of national guidelines and legislation relevant to the service area.
- Working knowledge of Mental Capacity and Liberty Safeguards.
- Ability to use own initiative and make decisions within the remit of the role.
- Effective use of Microsoft Office applications and electronic systems supporting health and care delivery.
- Ability to maintain clear and accurate records electronically and in writing to deadlines.
- Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with people who have a wide range of healthcare needs and communication barriers.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Effective and accurate computer skills.
- Ability to provide appropriate nursing care by prioritising and effectively managing an unpredictable workload.
- Ability to manage personal workload.
Experience
- Extensive experience working within health and social care.
- Experience working at a management or leadership level.
- Evidence of evidence-based practice.
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience assessing rapidly deteriorating patients.
- Experience in service review and development, including audit.
- Previous experience dealing with the Care Quality Commission.
- Experience using SystmOne.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse 1st Level.
- Recognised mentor qualification and/or BLS on the Mentor Register, or willingness to work towards it.
- Management qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Non‑medical prescriber V300 (optional).
- Demonstrable post‑qualifying training.
Other

- Ability to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
