Position
Family Nurse based at Drongan Health Centre. This position is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. From 1 April 2026 full‑time hours will reduce to 36 hours with no loss of earnings.
Responsibilities
- Provide Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) services for first‑time mothers and their families.
- Work with an allocated caseload using strengths‑based approaches and Motivational Interviewing to support families in achieving goals and aspirations.
- Identify strengths and support families to set attainable goals for themselves and their children.
Qualifications and Experience
- Reflective practice and clinical supervision experience; ability to work effectively in a supportive and dynamic team.
- Experience working with families in the community, including child protection where required; knowledge of national and local policies that protect children.
- Working knowledge of “Getting It Right for Every Child”; trauma‑informed approach; knowledge of legislation relating to children and young people.
- Experience of midwifery, child health, public health and home visiting; passion for the FNP philosophy.
- Willingness to undertake specialist postgraduate training with assessed competency; desire for personal study to develop understanding of clinical areas.
- Availability to attend all mandatory FNP Education over an 18‑month period, facilitated via hybrid online, face‑to‑face and residential modules.
- New Family Nurses may undertake the Professional Diploma in Family Nursing (60 SCQF Level 11 points).
