We’re seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us working as a specialist palliative care resource in relation to the control of symptoms and the provision of social, economic and spiritual care for the patient and family in the community setting. To provide advice, support and education to the primary health care team where appropriate, as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
Person Specification
Essential
- Registered General Nurse or equivalent healthcare qualification.
- Demonstrate ability to work at degree level such as evidence of completion of a post graduate module.
- Relevant palliative qualification or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrate willingness to undertake academic courses.
- Significant post qualifying experience, including 1-2 years minimum working at band 6/7 in a variety of settings.
- Evidence of working autonomously in the clinical setting.
- Clear record of ongoing continuing professional development.
- Understanding of clinical governance.
- Audit and research skills.
- IT literate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding and knowledge of the issues relating to safeguarding.
- Understanding of equal opportunities/fair access values.
- Personal resilience.
- Evidence of change implementation and experience in motivating and engaging others.
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Possession of a valid full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Non-Medical Prescribing or willingness to work towards.
- Advanced Communications skills competence.
- Advanced Physical Assessment competence.
- Master’s Degree or willingness to work towards.
- Experience of electronic patient records.
- Experience of working in the community, palliative care setting or an oncology setting.
- Evidence of caseload management and/or coordination of services.
