Job Description:

Global Market Leader – Tech / Electronics / Design – seek a Lead Product Test Design Engineer.

Location: Office based at our Head Office in Hertfordshire (Rickmansworth – nr Watford).

A must – LabView expert (or close) with CLD or CLA Certification.

Position Objective

To provide the design, manufacture, verification, validation, and life‑cycle support of test jigs at board, sub‑system and product level. Research the latest technologies and support equipment to continually improve the quality of test jigs by increasing test coverage and reducing test time and cost. Manage the Product Test Design team to deliver required test jigs on time and within budget.

A Bit About The Role

  • Design and develop all functional test equipment for new and existing boards and products.
  • Develop hardware for board test jigs and system functional jigs and write software to control test sequences and the user interface.
  • Provide ongoing test support to production and external board suppliers to ensure continuous production without interruption.
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop robust and scalable test solutions.
  • Manage multiple hardware and software test applications, ensuring all items are documented and version controlled to the highest standard.
  • Create user instruction documents for all board test jigs and system functional jigs.

You / Your Experience

  • Passion for technology and a sense of humor.
  • Eight or more years working with design teams to implement test solutions for high‑volume products.
  • Hardware interface design and wiring of board test jigs and system functional jigs.
  • Experience designing hardware to measure low voltages and microamp currents.
  • Familiarity with radio technologies such as GNSS, ISM, and GSM, and knowledge of interfacing and controlling radio equipment for product system measurements.
