Senior Civil Design Engineer – Norwich, Norfolk

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of civil infrastructure schemes including highways, drainage, flood risk, and utilities.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and detailed design packages.
  • Produce high‑quality designs using Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and related software.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and Europe.
  • Take responsibility for project management tasks including programming, budgeting, and client liaison.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to their technical development.
  • Ensure all work complies with current standards, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Degree‑qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience within a civil infrastructure design consultancy environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in highways and drainage design.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and BIM workflows.
  • Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated (IEng) status, or actively working towards it.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage own workload and contribute to team success.
  • Experience in Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies, and due diligence.
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes and project stages (RIBA/HOAI) is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally across Europe.
