Executive Creative Director (ECD) – Independent Agency
I am working with a hugely successful, well-established independent agency with a global footprint and a reputation for producing smart, culturally relevant work. They have built a solid foundation with a diverse mix of clients and are now at a point where they want to push the creative standard further and make more of a mark on the industry. This is an opportunity for someone who wants real influence over both the work and the direction of the business. The focus is on creating strong, culturally relevant ideas that work across integrated advertising campaigns and beyond, while helping to build an environment where great work happens consistently.
The Role
This is a hands‑on leadership role. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being close to the work, not just reviewing it from a distance. You will help raise the creative standard across the agency, shaping ideas, writing, guiding teams and making sure the output is genuinely strong across channels. Alongside the work itself, you will partner with leadership to support growth, new business and the continued evolution of the creative department.
What They’re Looking For
- A senior Creative Director who is either already operating at ECD level or ready to step into it
- A strong copywriting background with a clear ideas‑first approach
- Experience leading integrated campaigns across multiple channels
- Someone who understands what great looks like and knows how to push work to get there
- Ideally experience at independent agencies, or someone drawn to that kind of environment
- Interest in culture beyond advertising and how brands show up in the real world
- A mix of client experience rather than being heavily focused on one category
