About the role
The cities and places of tomorrow are being designed today. At Buro Happold, our Digital Advisory team focuses on delivering technology and information transformation to clients to enhance their financial, environmental and social performance (the triple-bottom-line). Our projects vary considerably, from defining the smart city technologies that transform the resident, worker or visitor experience, to developing a sophisticated data-driven 3D model of a university campus to determine the most effective route to net-zero carbon, to outlining the team, processes and policies required for our clients to manage data quickly and securely.
All projects have engineering or real-world asset expertise at their core, combined with a relentless focus on the triple-bottom-line, making us unique. The team works across a range of consulting areas including strategy, business case development, program management, data, governance, solution development, innovation and change management.
Key Duties
- Manage workstreams or engagements from outcome definition, activity planning to successful delivery and knowledge capture.
- Plan, execute and review workstreams across areas such as digital strategies and change programmes for iconic projects and clients.
- Run workshops, develop roadmaps and visions, define solution designs, conduct research, draft deliverables, and deliver steering‑committee presentations.
- Design and deliver process, governance, organisation and procurement changes.
- Lead development of digital strategy and transformation tools, templates and artefacts to communicate, plan and implement more effectively.
- Facilitate client workshops to accelerate understanding, identify opportunities and build consensus across stakeholders.
- Build trusted client relationships based on credibility and active listening.
- Supervise, manage and develop staff on and off projects.
- Support continuous development of digital advisory services and go-to-market offers.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver high-quality, client-tailored outputs.
- Support business development, including creation of innovative proposals.
- Build new skills and strengthen expertise with training and support.
Skills & Experience
- Digital strategy, innovation, transformation and/or relevant background.
- Experience with project management and/or consulting methodologies (e.g. MSP, design-led thinking).
- Leadership of projects or workstreams with client or customer interaction.
- Strong interest in technology for business and urban transformation.
- Specific experience in at least one of innovation, digital strategy development, business case development, digital procurement, enterprise or IT architecture, operating models and organisation design, programme advisory, governance or information management.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
- Understanding of construction processes and/or experience in the built environment (beneficial).
- Relevant digital or business professional qualification (e.g., CA, ACA, MBA) (beneficial).
