Systems Development Officer

About the Role

We are looking for a confident and technically minded Systems Development Officer to help maintain and improve the digital systems that support our frontline services.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Streetscene IT systems.
• Support system configuration, improvements and digital development.
• Test and help roll out upgrades and new features.
• Monitor system performance and support data‑driven insight.
• Produce reports and SQL‑based data extracts.
• Support system users and deliver staff training.

Qualifications

• HNC in Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Around 3 to 4 years’ experience working with and supporting operational IT systems, or the ability to demonstrate an equivalent level of expertise.
• A strong understanding of systems, data and how they are used to support business processes.
• Awareness of data management, compliance or relevant legislation in an operational environment.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Excellent communication and user‑support skills.
• A proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
• Knowledge of Confirm and mobile/field‑based systems (desirable).
