Locum Consultant in the department of Leeds Clinical Genomics Service. The successful applicant will join the Leeds Clinical Genomics Service (LCGS) based at Leeds General Infirmary for a 6‑month full‑time (10 PA) locum period, with potential to apply for a substantive role.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide consultant cover for Leeds and regional paediatric and adult general genetics clinics. Responsibilities include attending multidisciplinary teams across oncology, fetal medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology and musculoskeletal services, delivering general and specialist genetics clinics, and possibly covering prenatal and cancer clinics, including Genetic Cardiac (Inherited Cardiac Conditions).
What you will bring to the role
The successful applicant should possess MRCP or MRCPCH (or equivalent) and have established skills in Clinical Genetics. Ideal candidates will have experience in rare disease and cancer genetics, be registered on the Specialist Register at interview or be eligible for admission, and will contribute to local and regional projects in research, service development, innovation and the education of medical students and other health professionals.
