As the Project Manager, you will
- Plan and manage the end-to-end project lifecycle (design, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover) and lead safe, efficient delivery of civil and structural works to meet programme, quality and commercial targets.
- Develop the Project Execution Strategy covering construction methodology, phasing, logistics and temporary works.
- Integrate HV sequencing, access constraints and energisation milestones into project programmes and planning.
- Coordinate technical inputs from civil, structural, geotechnical, temporary works and HV interface specialists; manage design development and timely issue of construction information.
- Align closely with HV system teams on tolerances, interfaces, access requirements and sequencing throughout execution.
- Support supply chain strategy including early contractor involvement, tender evaluation, subcontractor selection, and management of self‑perform/subcontract teams.
- Lead risk and opportunity analysis (notably ground conditions, HV interfaces, site logistics), manage contract and programme obligations with mitigation/recovery plans, and monitor progress, performance and compliance (inspections, reporting, KPIs) ensuring CDM/HSE, environmental and quality system compliance.
We are looking for
- Proven track record delivering infrastructure or energy sector projects (substations, HVDC, power generation or similar).
- Strong civil/structural engineering background, including reinforced concrete, steelwork, earthworks and temporary works.
- Experience working on or interfacing with high‑voltage systems, ideally including 400kV transmission infrastructure and associated civil/structural requirements.
- Good awareness of high‑voltage system tolerances, access needs and interface constraints (full HV design experience not essential).
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple technical interfaces.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial aspects.
What we offer
- 24/7 digital GP service for you and your family
- Financial wellbeing and employee assistance
