Principal / Associate Mechanical Engineer

Liverpool – £65k – £75k + Benefits

A well-established Building Services Engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal/Associate Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Liverpool office. This is a key leadership opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to play an influential role within a dynamic and forward-thinking consultancy delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors.

The business is recognised for delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions across commercial, residential, healthcare, education and mixed-use developments. With a strong project pipeline and continued growth plans, they are seeking an individual who can lead projects, mentor teams and help drive technical excellence across the mechanical discipline.

The role:

  • Lead the electrical design and delivery of projects from concept through to completion
  • Manage and mentor junior and intermediate engineers within the team
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors and design teams
  • Produce and review detailed electrical designs including lighting, power, fire alarm and associated systems
  • Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Support resource planning, project management and technical quality assurance
  • Attend client and design meetings while helping develop long‑term relationships
  • Contribute to business development activities, proposals and project bids

  • Strong background within Building Services Consultancy
  • Proven experience leading electrical design projects across a range of sectors
  • Excellent technical knowledge of UK building regulations and standards
  • Strong client‑facing and communication skills
  • Experience managing project teams and mentoring engineers
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and workloads effectively
  • Chartered Engineer status or working toward Chartership
