The role

The Product Development team plays a pivotal role in delivering the overall digital experience for customers, consumers and colleagues underpinning the Rightmove business. The Application Analyst role sits within one of our Internal Product Teams providing digital solutions to Rightmove’s internal teams. It is a key member of a SCRUM product team working with Product Owner, Software and QA Engineers to analyse business problems, design and deliver technical solutions through configuration of business applications and low‑code solutions.

The Application Analyst reports to the Business Systems Manager and works closely with other application and platform engineers, Product Owners, Architects and Operations team members.

A typical week as an Application Analyst might involve:

  • Building practical solutions using low‑code platforms, including applications, workflows and automations.
  • Using SQL to query, analyse and support changes to data across Rightmove’s business applications.
  • Using platforms such as UiPath to automate manual or repetitive processes.
  • Working closely with Rightmove’s teams to understand challenges, identify opportunities and explore where technology can help deliver better outcomes.
  • Collaborating with Product Owners, Software Engineers and Quality Assurance Engineers to understand business problems and agree the best approach to solving them.
  • Sharing progress regularly with the product team and end users, using feedback to shape and improve the solution as it develops.
  • Supporting testing activity across the team, including validating changes, helping meet sprint commitments and ensuring solutions are fit for purpose.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in tools such as Microsoft Excel, Access, or similar business applications.
  • Experience learning how software platforms work and using that knowledge to configure, improve or support business processes.
  • A working understanding of SQL, including querying, interpreting and working with data.
  • A track record of learning new technologies and applying them to solve practical problems.

We would love to find someone who:

  • Has experience improving internal processes, systems or ways of working.
  • Has an understanding of BPMN or similar process‑mapping approaches, with the ability to design clear and efficient workflows.
  • Has experience building or configuring low‑code solutions in platforms such as AppSmith, Power Apps, Retool or similar.
  • Has experience automating manual tasks using tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere or Blue Prism.
  • Has experience using collaboration and delivery tools such as Confluence, Jira or similar.
  • Has experience working in an Agile or Scrum team.
