Job Title: Principal Consultant, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) – Aerospace & Defence
Job Overview: Systems Insights & Solutions team requires a Principal Consultant with PLM expertise to lead transformation projects, deliver end‑to‑end solutions, and engage at executive level.
Working Arrangement
- Hybrid model: 2‑3 days in office or client site per week, up to 5 days on client site.
- Travel to client site as required.
- Base locations: Bristol, London (Victoria), Manchester.
Responsibilities
- Lead PLM projects delivering measurable business value.
- Deliver PLM solutions covering all product lifecycle phases, with focus on digital engineering.
- Service Delivery areas: Product and Technology Portfolio Management; Programme Delivery & Governance; Mission‑Driven Systems Engineering; Multi‑Disciplinary Design & Optimisation; Connected Verification & Certification; Smart Manufacturing; Value Chain Collaboration & Intelligence; Optimised Sustainment & Availability.
- Conduct PLM diagnostics and business case development.
- Define business architecture, operating model, requirements and PLM solution blueprint.
- Lead PLM transformation and optimisation initiatives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years PLM leadership experience, major PLM vendors, Siemens advantage.
- Hands‑on expertise in core PLM processes: BOM management, change/configuration, variant/options, CAD/CAE integration, ALM/requirements trace, maintenance, through‑life support.
- Business acumen – shaping business cases and implementation roadmaps, conversing with executive stakeholders.
- Prior consulting experience – stakeholder management and full engagement lifecycle.
- Desirable: Degree in engineering or related subject; proficiency in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, TOGAF, EIA‑649, STEP/PLCS, AS9145, ISO 9001/27001; understanding of defence export‑control constraints; industry experience in Defence or discrete manufacturing.
