About the Role
As an ERP Functional Architect specializing in Supply Chain within Avanade’s Global Integrated Centre of Excellence (ICOE), you will design, shape, and deliver intelligent, scalable supply chain solutions on Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM. You will partner with global clients to transform their supply chain operations, enhance visibility, optimize planning, and modernize processes using AI-powered forecasting, automation, and analytics. Manufacturing experience is not required but is considered a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture & Design
- Lead the functional architecture of D365 F&SCM across global ERP programs.
- Develop solution blueprints, process maps, fit-gap analysis, and cross‑functional integration designs.
- Embed AI capabilities such as demand forecasting, stocking optimization, anomaly detection, and intelligent replenishment into solution designs.
- Contribute to Manufacturing solution design if experience in Production Control, Shop Floor, Lean/Process manufacturing, or costing.
- Participate in Avanade Communities of Practice (COP).
- Client Engagement & Advisory
- Act as a trusted advisor to Supply Chain, Operations, and Logistics leaders—guiding future‑state design and best‑practice adoption.
- Lead workshops across supply chain functions (procurement, inventory, warehousing, logistics, planning, product management).
- Support clients adopting modern capabilities including Copilot, AI‑augmented planning, and predictive operational insights.
- Communicate complex functional requirements and solution designs in clear, business‑oriented language.
- Delivery Quality & Governance
- Ensure functional governance, solution integrity, and design quality across global delivery teams following Method One standards.
- Support estimation, solution assurance, and design reviews throughout implementation.
- Identify and manage functional risks, dependencies, and integration points across supply chain workstreams.
- Thought Leadership & ICOE Contribution
- Contribute to global delivery standards, templates, accelerators, and solution patterns for supply chain transformation.
- Support regions in scaling AI‑enabled supply chain capabilities, ensuring consistent adoption and quality.
- Mentor functional consultants and contribute to capability‑building within the global ERP community.
Required Experience & Skills
Core Functional Expertise (Mandatory)
- Deep hands‑on experience with D365 F&SCM Supply Chain modules, such as Inventory Management, Procurement & Sourcing, Sales & Distribution, Warehouse Management (WMS), Master Planning (MRP), Product Information Management, and Logistics & Transportation (preferred).
Manufacturing Experience (Optional but Highly Valuable)
- Experience in Production Control, Shop Floor Execution, BOMs & Routes, Resource & Capacity Planning, Lean or Process Manufacturing, and Costing in manufacturing contexts.
Solution Architecture & Leadership
- Experience leading functional design on full lifecycle D365 F&SCM implementations, and defining target operating models.
- Strong ability to manage cross‑workstream alignment, dependencies, and solution coherence.
- Excellent workshop facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
AI Skills & Preferred Knowledge
- Understanding of AI‑powered supply chain capabilities such as predictive demand planning, intelligent safety stock/replenishment, machine‑learning insights on warehouse or logistics performance, and exception or anomaly detection.
- Familiarity with Copilot, Azure AI, or responsible AI frameworks.
- Comfort using AI accelerators for requirements definition, documentation automation, and test case generation.
Consulting & Soft Skills
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and client‑management capabilities.
- Ability to translate business challenges into clear, actionable ERP solutions.
- Comfort working in global, cross‑cultural delivery environments.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps for project delivery.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of Microsoft D365 F&SCM functional/consulting experience, with specialization in Supply Chain.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- D365 Supply Chain certifications preferred; Manufacturing certifications are a plus.
