We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated pharmacists to join our existing patient‑focused team of Rotational & Specialist Clinical Pharmacists who provide our clinical pharmacy service to our services at The Royal Oldham Hospital.
Specialised Areas
This rotational post will provide you with an outstanding breadth of experience in a comprehensive portfolio of specialised areas including:
- Surgery (vascular, urology, orthopaedics)
- Acute Medicine
- Cardiology
- Acute Respiratory
- Gastroenterology
- Paediatrics
- Aseptics
- Haematology
- Critical Care
- Neonatology
- Clinical Trials
Responsibilities
- Focus on medicine optimisation of patients admitted through our specialities to identify medication‑related issues that may have led to the admission;
- Reduce risks from prescribing errors and conduct ongoing review of prescribing to ensure harm‑free care for patients;
- Work closely with specialist nurses, consultants and other healthcare professionals to deliver best care for patients;
- Provide expert advice regarding medication management, support medical staff to ensure safe and cost‑effective prescribing, and provide accurate discharge information to primary and community care providers;
- Serve as an integral part of the MDT and work both as part of a team and autonomously.
Qualifications and Experience
- Newly qualified pharmacists or those changing sector, supported in progression from Band 6 to 7;
- Diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent and non‑medical prescribing qualification (or equivalent);
- Eligibility to sit exam in summer 2026 for trainee pharmacists is welcomed;
- Excellent clinical and communication skills, efficient, organised, innovative, resourceful, and motivated;
- Willing to work flexible hours over a seven‑day period within a structured rota.
