Compliance Surveyor – Electrical and Lifts

Salary: £39,321 to £44,039 per annum

Employment type: Permanent

Working hours: Monday to Friday; 37 hours per week

Our client is a wholly owned subsidiary of Colchester City Council. They provide management and maintenance services to around 7,000 residential properties and the Council commercial and public buildings, including Colchester Castle and Colchester Town Hall. About The Role

The Building Safety team is responsible for ensuring compliance with building safety legislation, including the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act and Social Housing Regulation Bill, as well as the Big 6 Health and Safety categories (Asbestos, Legionella, Gas, Lifts, Fire and Electrical). You will report to the Building Safety Manager and manage, develop and maintain electrical installations and lift services within the client’s properties.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting electrical installation condition reports and thorough examinations
  • Carrying out lift testing, servicing and maintenance
  • Managing specified projects and contracts for the property portfolio
  • Supporting Asset Managers with project and contract management

About You

Applicants must have a solid understanding and working knowledge of health and safety legislation, electrical testing, lift servicing and maintenance.

Applicants should also possess knowledge of building and construction projects and a good awareness of facilities management.
