Job Description

To manage the IT Services department and set the strategic direction, provide support to the bank’s senior management team, and manage IT Service risk across the organisation.

Purpose of the Role

Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the IT Services department, ensuring alignment with the bank’s objectives, maintaining high levels of service performance, and safeguarding IT Service risk.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic direction for IT Services, including up‑to‑date methodologies and processes.
  • Manage the IT Services department: oversee staff performance, implement departmental goals and objectives, and monitor efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain relationships with IT Services stakeholders, identifying relevant stakeholders and ensuring quality of external third‑party services.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures for IT Services, adhere to control targets and standards, and manage group SLAs and controls for incident, problem, and change activities.
  • Identify and mitigate potential IT Service risks, and align risk management with the bank’s change and compliance functions.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the IT Services department: revenue, profitability, cost control, and value from commercial agreements.
  • Lead IT Services projects, drive successful research and product launches, and deliver integrated solutions to clients.
  • Maintain critical technology infrastructure and resolve complex technical issues, minimizing disruption to operations.

Portfolio Lead / Technical Delivery Manager – Security

Responsible for end‑to‑end management of inbound demand and Front Door engagement requests into the Security Engineering function.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement requirements and manage executive‑level reporting and change governance.
  • Analyse portfolio‑level data to drive strategic decision‑making, improve accountability, prioritisation, and task management.
  • Lead the design, build, and transition of new or enhanced security products and services into live operational delivery.
  • Support and enhance existing Run‑the‑Bank security capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in project or delivery management, preferably in a technology or infrastructure environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices and broad knowledge of development roadmaps and infrastructure principles.
  • Experience with executive‑level interactions and understanding of technology business.
  • Ability to influence and affirm accountability to meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to manage complex delivery environments and drive outcomes through collaboration and structured oversight.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, MS Teams, Excel, and data visualisation or query tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL.
  • Understanding of compliance and risk expectations, including ORACs with strict scope and timing constraints.
