Plant Engineer – Reading

We are looking for a Plant Engineer to provide overall responsibility for the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of plant hire equipment in the region. You will work directly with other engineers in the depot and liaise regularly with drivers and the hire desk team to ensure repairs and maintenance of plant equipment is prioritized effectively.
Responsibilities
• Inspect, test, maintain and repair plant hire equipment to ensure safe and compliant operation;
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance priorities with drivers and the hire desk;
• Work closely with the depot engineering team to support safety and quality standards;
• Support the delivery of Speedy’s ESG Strategy Decade to Deliver.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Proven ability to test and repair plant equipment to a high standard, ideally within the hire industry or a similar environment.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent City & Guilds qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Technical or engineering background is desirable.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- Ability to support your business unit/team in delivering Speedy’s ESG Strategy.
