£37,000 – £39,000 per annum (depending on skills and abilities)

Working hours: 8am – 4:30pm Monday to Thurs and 8am – 2:30pm Friday.

The Role:
A global manufacturing leader is seeking a Production Quality Engineer to join its quality team, to investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.

Responsibilities of the Production Quality Engineer:
- Lead root cause analysis of manufacturing defects, customer complaints, and process deviations using structured methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, or similar
- Drive and manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), ensuring effective implementation and verification
- Analyse production and quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving sessions and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver scrap reduction and re-engineering projects, with ongoing focus on:
- Completing non-conformance documentation and reporting findings to the Quality Manager
- Planning and tracking activities to ensure progress can be effectively monitored and presented
The Candidate:
The successful Production Quality Engineer will have the following skills and abilities:
- Proven experience in a quality or engineering role, ideally within a fast-paced manufacturing environment or complex batch-processing setting
- Strong structured problem-solving abilities, with hands-on experience using tools such as 8D, Fishbone (Ishikawa), 5 Whys, Fault Tree Analysis, and statistical analysis
- Ability to interpret manufacturing data and convert insights into practical, actionable improvements
- Demonstrated experience working effectively within a team environment
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
