Hospital Administrator – Helston Community Hospital
We are recruiting an Administrator to join our friendly and supportive Administration Team at Helston Community Hospital. The position is part-time, 22.5 hours per week, on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. Shift lengths are 7.5 hours and uniform will be provided.
Job Summary
The successful postholder will rotate between the inpatient ward and the main reception, providing a high-quality administrative service to patients, visitors and staff.
Main duties of the job
- Act as the first point of contact, both face-to-face and by telephone
- Support ward administration and reception duties
- Manage patient information and ensure records are accurate and up to date
- Respond to queries and direct patients and visitors appropriately
- Assist the wider team with general administrative tasks
Essential Education / Qualifications & Experience
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office or similar applications
- NVQ or RSA 2 or equivalent experience
- Experience of working in a very busy reception area
- Experience of managing electronic and paper-based diary/appointment systems
- Healthcare/NHS administrative experience
Essential Skills and Aptitude
- Word processing and data inputting skills
- Clear communication by telephone and face-to-face with a range of people, including patients, health & social care professionals and the public
- Experience of working in a very busy reception area
Additional Essential Knowledge and Abilities
- Use initiative when dealing with queries
