About the Role
We are looking for an Assistant / Project Manager (Design) to support the delivery of water and multidisciplinary design projects. You will either manage the delivery of simple design projects or assist senior project managers on more complex schemes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
This role is ideal for a graduate or early-career professional with experience in regulated industries and a strong interest in developing a career in project management.
Key Responsibilities
Manage or support the delivery of multidisciplinary water design projectsEnsure projects are delivered on time, within cost, and in line with client specificationsCoordinate and manage commercial and contractual requirements, including NEC contractsDevelop, update, and manage project programmesMaintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders to ensure client satisfactionReport project progress, risks, and performance to senior managementCoordinate effectively with internal design teams and the external supply chainSupport the preparation of tenders for water design projects with input from engineering teams
Required Qualifications & Experience
Graduate or HND qualification (engineering or related discipline preferred)2+ years’ experience in one or more of the following:Engineering design in a regulated industryProject engineering in a regulated industryProject management of engineering design or constructionDesign management
Experience working in regulated industries such as:
Water (essential)RailOil & GasNuclearHighwaysBridgesStrong interest and enthusiasm for project management

Experience working on multidisciplinary projectsAbility to xwzovoh lead and coordinate diverse, multidisciplinary teamsKnowledge of different contract types, including NEC and fixed-cost contractsExperience managing change and design variationsExperience managing or contributing to design deliveryCommercial and contractual awarenessUnderstanding of project programmes and cost control
