Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership to Project Management team including project and service delivery, processes, development, etc.
  • Proactive day to day responsibility for large sized projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strengthen service delivery capability and promote knowledge capture, sharing and innovation.
  • Prepare and evaluate tenders, contractor/consultant selection and contract documentation.
  • Support risk and value management, including facilitation of workshops and project risk registers.
  • Contract administration for relevant contract provisions, monthly reporting and chair project meetings.
  • Deliver all work outputs accurately and timely to a high standard of quality.
  • Uphold policies and procedures, particularly Health & Safety and Quality Assurance.
  • Ensure compliance with client’s corporate governance procedures.
  • Achieve all objectives as required by the annual performance review process.
  • Commit to continuing professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to keep them informed of all relevant matters impacting projects.
  • Provide advice on procurement and contracts.
  • Promote, protect, develop and enable the business and colleagues within the scope of your job role.
  • Contribute to bid and tender preparation and business development.
  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives at service level.
  • Provide leadership to staff, where required.
  • Resolve conflicts of priorities and personality relating to work with the appropriate Director or Associate.
  • Mentor and coach team members, ensuring staff and new starters develop for business growth and career development.
  • Develop and manage Project Programmes and obtain stakeholder buy‑in.
  • Manage delivery of work through proactive involvement and performance management to ensure timely, high‑quality completion.
  • Drive project performance, service delivery and technical/commercial outcomes, undertaking reviews to exceed client expectations.
  • Communicate with team members to ensure understanding and engagement with project strategies, briefs and client requirements.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: degree in construction, cost management, engineering or quantity surveying.
  • Relevant qualification: MAPM, MRICS or equivalent.
  • Project Management Qualifications such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, Certified Project Manager, MSP or Risk Management.
  • Experience in the infrastructure sector, 7+ years (at least 5 post‑qualification). Extensive technical knowledge of construction industry matters.
  • Extensive experience with JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Excellent technical project management skills: risk, opportunities, issues, planning/programming, change control, reporting, stakeholder management, communications, value management.
  • Experience delivering complex projects/programmes through the entire life cycle.
  • Sound understanding of HS&E legislation, with formal training/qualifications.
  • Strong oral, written communication and presentation skills; interpersonal and team‑building skills.
  • Analytical, sound judgement, and aptitude for forward planning.
  • Energetic, motivated, with innovative flair, resourcefulness and adaptability to change.
  • Ability to think clearly and make reasoned decisions, explaining logic.
  • Proven experience delivering multiple complex projects and managing people.
