About the Role

Checkout.com looks for a Strategic Bid Manager to join the RFP Management team in London. The Bids Team acts as both a trusted enabler and a commercial accelerator for Strategic Accounts, supporting high‑profile enterprise sales cycles through industry‑leading RFP responses and proposal delivery. The role involves leading exciting RFx opportunities across Europe, the USA, MENA and APAC, focusing on the company’s most strategic accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Expertly manage RFx projects end‑to‑end, including capture, formation and management of the bid team, and the creation and delivery of best‑in‑class RFP response packages.
  • Identify customer pain points, develop value proposition and win themes during the bid capture phase, and incorporate these into the bid strategy and response.
  • Collaborate with and manage internal stakeholders and partners, including commercial, marketing, design, technical, product and functional teams such as legal, compliance and information security.
  • Generate high‑quality, persuasive business‑development materials that create a compelling case for prospects.
  • Proactively manage workload with multiple deadlines and workstreams.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all RFx types (RFI, RFP, due‑diligence questionnaires).
  • Drive best‑bid practice throughout each RFx submission and act as a bid champion.
  • Support back‑office tasks and ad‑hoc bid practices, including maintenance and continuous improvement of the bid library and collateral.
  • Support sales during presentation stages of RFP opportunities.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in competitive enterprise and/or strategic tendering (bid, marketing, technical) or within the payments industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (native English or equivalent) and the ability to write compelling content for an international audience.
  • Excellent eye for detail and strong motivation to deliver consistently high standards.
  • Strong team player with the ability to support and lead as required.
  • Highly organised self‑starter capable of prioritising shifting workloads and tasks effectively.
  • Experience in expert stakeholder management and effective communication and collaboration.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to translate technical jargon into straightforward, influential business‑development content.
  • Owner mindset, can‑do attitude and proficiency in problem‑solving.
  • Expert cradle‑to‑grave bid and/or project management.
  • Proven commercial acumen.
  • Bid champion with a passion for winning RFPs.
  • Experience utilising AI effectively within the RFP process.
  • Proficiency in G‑Suite, MS Office and RFP software platforms.
