Veterinary Care Assistant – Reading
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Veterinary Care Assistant to join our Tilehurst Vets for Pets practice.
Our practice is bright, spacious, air-conditioned, and purpose-built to industry-leading standards, with state-of-the-art equipment including digital X-ray and in-house laboratory facilities.
In this role, you will support colleagues with a range of non-clinical duties, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice while delivering the highest standard of patient care. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress into a student nurse role in the future.
This is a part-time position, working 28 hours per week (shifts to be discussed at interview stage), with a salary in line with the national minimum wage.

- You are the friendly and welcoming face for clients and their pets when they arrive at the practice.
- You are able to confidently guide clients by keeping up to date with practice services and any additional offerings.
- You remain calm, attentive, and focused on meeting clients’ needs.
- You bring enthusiasm and drive to your role, with a genuine passion for both customer service and animal care.
- You can handle a variety of situations, from supporting clients through difficult news to celebrating happy milestones such as a new puppy’s first visit.
- Your positive and engaging personality helps create a warm, welcoming atmosphere alongside your colleagues.
