Consultant Psychiatrist – General Adult Inpatient & Community Services

Job Overview

We are recruiting 4 Consultant Psychiatrists to lead and deliver high quality mental health care across our NHS services.

Key Services

• Maple Ward – newly renovated acute inpatient unit
• Dovedale 2 Ward – brand new inpatient unit
• Community Mental Health Teams
• Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team

Main Duties

• Leadership: Attend monthly governance and leadership meetings (protected time)
• Provide senior clinical leadership within teams
• Lead multidisciplinary team meetings
• Conduct medical/psychiatric assessments for care planning, risk assessment, and people detained under the Mental Health Act
• Deliver appropriate pharmacological and psychological interventions to aid recovery
• Assist with tribunal hearings for detained patients
• Support administrative tasks essential to clinical responsibilities
• Review and undertake QIP/Service improvement work as directed by service needs
• Work in a special interest area of your choice with support
