Were looking for a proactive and detail focused Fire Door Engineer to join PA Housing. This is an important role where youll inspect, assess, and maintain fire doors across our residential buildings, helping ensure our homes remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.

What youll be doing
- Carry out detailed inspections and assessments of fire doors and frames across residential properties
- Identify defects, assess risk levels, and ensure issues are prioritised and resolved within required timescales
- Complete minor repairs and adjustments including seals, hinges, self closers, and hardware replacements
- Raise and track remedial works, ensuring all actions are recorded accurately and completed efficiently
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and clearly communicate findings and recommendations
- Work closely with residents, contractors, and colleagues to ensure works are completed safely and professionally
- Support compliance with fire safety legislation, Building Safety requirements, and Awaabs Law
- Carry out testing to ensure fire doors close and latch correctly and remain fully operational
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting activity when required
- Promote a strong culture of safety, compliance, and resident wellbeing in every interaction
- Keep up to date with fire safety legislation, standards, and best practice guidance
- Provide excellent customer service when dealing with residents, including handling concerns or complaints professionally
What were looking for:
Wed love to hear from you if you:
- Have experience inspecting, maintaining, or repairing fire doors within residential or commercial buildings
- Understand current fire safety legislation and standards including the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order and Building Safety Act
- Have knowledge of fire door construction, seals, hardware, and compliance requirements
- Are confident identifying risks and recommending practical solutions
- Have strong attention to detail and take pride in producing accurate reports and records
- Are comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
- Have excellent communication skills and can build positive relationships with residents and colleagues
- Are confident using mobile technology, apps, and digital reporting systems
- Bring a proactive and solution focused approach to safety and compliance
- Have experience working within housing or property compliance services (desirable)
