Room Leader Level 3 – Kidbrooke, South East London
More2Kidbrooke is seeking a Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner for our Over 2s or PreSchool Room at 25 Ignatius Sancho Road, SE3 9NJ, Kidbrooke.
As a Room Leader you will play an important role in leading a small team within the nursery, supporting high standards of care, learning and safeguarding while creating a positive and inspiring environment for both children and staff.
Essential Requirements
- Right to work in the UK – no visa sponsorship available.
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years Qualification (NVQ, CACHE, NNEB or equivalent).
- Previous experience working in a nursery setting, ideally with some leadership responsibilities.
- No more than a one‑hour commute to Kidbrooke.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a small team of practitioners within the room on a daily basis.
- Act as a key worker and maintain strong relationships with children and families.
- Support the planning and delivery of exciting, age‑appropriate learning opportunities in line with the EYFS.
- Oversee observations, assessments and learning journeys within the room.
- Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, hygiene and health & safety are consistently maintained.
- Support and mentor junior staff members, students and apprentices.
- Work closely with management to maintain a positive team culture and strong outcomes for children.
- Contribute to room organisation, staff deployment and the smooth day‑to‑day running of the nursery.
- Monitor children’s progress and support staff in identifying next steps in learning and development.
Qualifications and Skills
- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS.
- Previous experience within an Early Years setting.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Confident leading a small team and supporting others professionally.
- Food hygiene certificate or willingness to complete one.
- Valid 12‑hour Paediatric First Aid certificate or willingness to complete training.
Working Hours
You will be working 4 days per week (7.30 am – 6.00 pm) with one weekday off.
