Job Overview

As a Business Partner – Job Evaluation & Organisational Design, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our pay, grading, and organisational structures are fair and aligned with our goals. You will provide expert advice on job evaluation and organisational design, helping to shape roles that deliver strategic outcomes while ensuring compliance with equal pay legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Determine remuneration for roles across the council using the NJC Job Evaluation Scheme and Korn Ferry Hay methodology to ensure fairness and consistency.
  • Collaborate on restructures, service redesign and organisational change initiatives.
  • Provide constructive advice to managers and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training on job evaluation and organisational design.
  • Keep up to date with legislation and translate it into effective policy and practice.

Qualifications

  • A relevant numerical, analytical or logical qualification.
  • Recent experience conducting job evaluation assessments, preferably with Korn Ferry Hay and NJE schemes, and experience of organisational design.
  • Proven ability to interpret, research and analyse complex information to develop well‑documented, defensible recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of employment and equality legislation, particularly equal pay.
