Role

Onsite DevOps Engineer, deploying applications and software to cloud or on‑prem environments across multiple business areas. This opportunity will be an office‑based role at one of our sites in the Gloucester or Manchester area.

All candidates must already hold eDV to be eligible.

Skills and Experience

• Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model
• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)
• Infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.)
• Experience building and deploying large‑scale applications in Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines; container platform and orchestration systems (ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/helm/Docker)
• Experience in automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents
• Experience in scripting languages and source control

Responsibilities

• Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure
• Understanding the needs of project stakeholders
• Automating and improving development and release processes
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cyber‑security threats
• Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and solutions
• Working with other engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
