We are currently looking for talented individuals who are passionate about delivering outstanding customer service. You will often be the first point of contact our customers meet on their journey and it is therefore a vital role in making our customers’ day.
We are recruiting for a part-time RCO/Gateline Assistant position working 17 hours per week. Key to your role at all times is being visible and anticipating the needs of the customer to meet their expectations.
As a RCO/Gateline Assistant, you will be a key member of staff whose role in the station and on-train environment, including the customer journey, is of prime importance. You will be expected to provide a high level of information, while promoting safety, security, wellbeing and revenue protection across the network. You will provide a warm greeting to customers in a polite and professional manner at all times.
Your duties fall into four main categories revenue protection, customer service, security and information provision. It is an environment in which you will sometimes be working under pressure. As you would expect, it is particularly important to promote maximum customer goodwill through high standards of courtesy and service, including ensuring that proactive assistance is provided at all times.
We are looking for people who can work clearly and accurately under pressure and to tight timescales, think logically, literally and creatively. You will need to possess and demonstrate the following:

These roles cover a 24-hour operation, so due to shift times you must live within the local area and have access to independent transport to ensure that you can arrive at the station for early shifts, as there may not always be a train service available.
All station-based roles may involve standing for long periods of time and working shifts including weekends, nights and bank holidays.
