The Role
As a Senior Consulting Engineer – Forward Deployed Associate Manager, you will operate with high individual ownership. You’ll design solutions that unify complex data landscapes, build workflows that drive smarter decisions, and partner with organisations to deliver sustainable transformation. Working directly with your clients, you will be the face of AOBG, requiring a unique blend of technical mastery and high emotional intelligence (EQ) to navigate complex environments. You will have creative freedom to architect solutions, working iteratively to build fast, show your work to clients and refine it based on real‑time feedback.
What You’ll Do
- End-to-End Delivery: Take significant individual ownership of client problems, handling everything from deep data engineering in low/no code Palantir Foundry tooling, or Python and PySpark code repositories, to building user-facing front-end applications and widgets in TypeScript or REACT.
- Client Advisory & Translation: Sit directly alongside clients, distinguish their goals and requirements, and translate complex technical language into stakeholder‑appropriate communication.
- AI Integration: Actively embed AI workflows into existing applications using cutting‑edge tools like AIP Logic Functions, AIP Analysts, and AIFDE.
- APBG/Decho Labs Innovation: Contribute to building tangible internal products. Feed your deployment learnings back into the company so our teams learn from your success and we create compounding assets of value for internal use and our clients.
- Innate Collaboration: Responsible for self‑assignment of taskings, actively participate in our “show and tell” culture through teachbacks and tech reviews, and uplift your peers through our highly active internal support channels.
What We Are Looking For
- Problem Solvers: Ability to navigate nuanced client environments and decompose complex use cases, prioritising architecture over rote coding.
- Fluency in core languages (Python, SQL, TypeScript and/or REACT) with the capability to pick up others quickly. Understanding of data engineering principles, ETL pipelines, and application development.
- Familiarity with Palantir (Foundry, Gotham, or similar) is preferred but not mandatory if you have a strong willingness to learn.
- High EQ & Curiosity: Emotional intelligence to manage client expectations, a proactive self‑starting nature, and humility to recognise gaps and seek help.
- Impact‑Driven Communication: Ability to present impressive demos, simplify complexity for non‑technical users, and focus on delivering genuine client impact.
Flexibility and mobility are required to deliver this role; there will be time onsite with clients and partners to enable delivery of first‑class services.
