Job Description:

Job Description We are looking for an individual who will support high standards of cleanliness, safety and service delivery, ensuring that domestic services meet operational requirements and contribute positively to patient care and staff experience across the hospital. Key Responsibilities Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of domestic services under the direction of the Domestic Services Manager / Facilities Manager. Maintain clear and effective communication channels within the Domestic Department. Support staff management activities, including recruitment and selection, sickness absence management, staff training, induction and participation in the appraisal process. Promote a fair, consistent and positive working environment by supervising staff in line with Trust grievance and disciplinary policies and procedures. Allocate workloads, maintain staff rotas and update work schedules to meet service needs. Organise and complete quality control inspections in conjunction with ward and departmental managers. Maintain accurate staff records, rotas, bonus documentation and relevant monitoring records. Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, acting immediately on hazards or unsafe practices and promoting high standards at all times. Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications Experience of supervising staff, or demonstrable skills and capability to move into a leadership role, within a domestic, cleaning or facilities environment. Experience of working to quality standards and carrying out inspections or monitoring activity. Good communication skills with the ability to deal professionally and courteously with staff, managers and service users. Ability to organise work effectively, prioritise tasks and respond to changing service demands. Professional approach with the ability to promote a positive working environment and team spirit. Reliable, flexible and able to work on own initiative under minimal supervision. Committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, appearance and service delivery.
