Electrical Shift Engineer – Continental Shift – Commercial Building

Location: Liverpool Street, London. Salary: up to £55,800 per annum. The role requires an electrically qualified individual with C & G or NVQ.

Hours of work: Continental Shift – 4 nights, 4 off, 3 days, 3 nights, 6 off, 4 days (07:00 – 19:00 / 19:00 – 07:00).

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Lighting – small installation, fault‑finding, lamping, changing ballasts, control panel, power distribution
• Emergency lighting
• Air Conditioning – Air Handling Units & Fan Coil Units (filter changes, cleaning)
• Chillers – re‑set
• Water treatment – temperature checks, not dosing
• Monitor mechanical plant
• Plumbing – unblocking toilets
• Pumps and motors
• Water treatment
• BMS system – monitor (hot & cold)
• Undertake all allocated tasks in a timely and professional manner
• Identify and report faults, take steps to resolve them
• Report all H&S issues as required
• Maintain informal communication with client staff about service levels and issues
• Report service‑affecting incidents to site management for formal client communication
• Remain flexible with site attendance and tasks within competency
• Be fully aware of relevant health & safety and general legislative matters
• Escort specialist subcontractors

Requirements

• Electrically qualified level (C & G, NVQ, etc.)
• 18th Edition electrical regulations knowledge
• Experience working in a large commercial building
• Copies of trade certificates (essential)
• Proven track record in commercial building maintenance
• Multi‑skilled
• Good communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to start at 07:00 am
