An overview Of The Role

As a Junior Content Designer, you will be joining the growing Digital Excellence community who are continually sharing knowledge and expertise. We are all passionate about user-centred design, critical thinking, problem solving and designing and building digital services and products. 

 

You will deepen your understanding of inclusive design practices throughout our project lifecycles, supporting teams to create solutions that are accessible to as many users as possible. This includes engaging with diverse user research, applying accessibility guidelines and legislation, and advocating for inclusive design principles.  

Working at Capgemini Invent would give you opportunities to develop and grow, working with major clients in both public and private sector. Our offices are in a variety of locations including London, Manchester and Glasgow. We offer hybrid working, however depending on your project you may have to travel to client locations.   

Your Role

  • Work with clients to create content that meets user and business needs
  • Design content collaboratively with other content designers, UX designers and researchers for public and private sector clients
  • Use different techniques to understand users and their needs, so that you can translate user stories and propose user-focused, evidence-based content
  • Develop a data-driven approach to content creation
  • Make complex language and processes easy to understand 
  • Contribute to our content community with design critiques and team learning
  • Help improve internal processes  
  • Develop knowledge of accessible content so you can advocate for accessible and inclusive design  
  • Learn how to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, using iterative methods to enable rapid Agile delivery  

Your Profile

  • A keen interest in user-centred design and a passion for working collaboratively
  • Some professional experience in content creation, style guides and writing for the web
  • Some experience writing inclusive content in plain English
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Awareness of Government Digital Service (GDS) service standards and GDS design principles
  • Knowledge of relevant accessibility standards and legislation, such as the Web Content Accessibility Regulations (WCAG)
  • Experience of working with a wider user-centred design team 

 

It would be ideal if you also have: 

 

  • Some experience designing content in relevant sectors, for example in local government or higher education
  • Experience working with various tools such as Miro, Mural, Teams, PowerPoint  
  • SC (Security Check) Clearance

Whilst you will have London, Manchester, Newcastle or Glasgow as an office base location, you must be fully flexible in terms of assignment location, as these roles may involve periods of time away from home at short notice. We offer a remuneration package which includes flexible benefits options for you to choose to suit your own personal circumstances and a variable element dependent grade and on company and personal performance. In order to commence a role with Capgemini UK plc you will be required to provide documentary proof prior to joining the Company that you are entitled to live and work in the UK.
