Delivery Manager Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Delivery Manager with a strong background in mobile telecommunications, particularly within mobile core networks and software upgrade programmes. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of complex network transformation and upgrade initiatives across core mobile infrastructure, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with minimal operational impact. London, UK – Hybrid working (3 days per week onsite). Three‑month rolling contract. Inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of mobile core network projects, focusing on software upgrades, platform lifecycle management, and infrastructure transformation.
- Coordinate delivery activities across engineering, operations, testing, and vendor teams.
- Drive planning, governance, risk management, and execution of complex upgrade and migration programmes.
- Ensure delivery milestones, dependencies, and resource plans are effectively managed.
- Lead stakeholder engagement across technical and non‑technical teams.
- Oversee change management and ensure compliance with operational and release governance processes.
- Support rollout planning, implementation scheduling, and post‑deployment reviews.
- Track and report programme status, risks, issues, and financials to senior leadership.
- Facilitate cross‑functional workshops and programme meetings.
- Ensure high standards of documentation, reporting, and delivery governance.
Required Experience
- Strong experience as a Delivery Manager within telecoms/mobile network environments.
- Proven background delivering mobile core network projects and software upgrade programmes.
- Experience working with technologies such as EPC, IMS, 4G/5G Core, VoLTE, signalling, or packet core environments.
- Strong understanding of telecoms operational processes, release management, and change control.
- Experience managing vendors, third‑party suppliers, and offshore delivery teams.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within large mobile operators or telecom vendors.
- Exposure to cloud‑native telecom infrastructure and network virtualisation.
- Familiarity with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Understanding of CI/CD, automation, or DevOps practices within telecoms environments.
- Prince2, PMP, Agile, or similar project delivery certifications.
Working Model
Hybrid working model with 3 days per week onsite in London.
