Role Overview
Are you an experienced legal real estate professional ready for your next role? We’re looking for a strategic thinker to head our commercial real estate legal function across the UK and ROI. This hybrid role, based two days a week in our Wakefield head office, offers the opportunity to shape the legal framework of our retail stores, depots, manufacturing sites, and offices.
Responsibilities
You’ll bring significant post‑qualification experience as a solicitor in England and Wales, with deep expertise in landlord and tenant law and leasehold structures. Strong leadership, negotiation skills, and a collaborative approach to stakeholder management are essential, especially in a fast‑paced, multi‑site, multi‑jurisdictional environment. In this role, you’ll oversee property transactions, compliance, and governance; manage an in‑house legal team and retained external lawyers to ensure our legal strategy supports commercial goals; and lead on ESG initiatives, including green leases and EPC compliance.
Qualifications
Experienced solicitor in England and Wales with post‑qualification experience and expertise in landlord and tenant law, leasehold structures, and compliance. Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work in a hybrid setting with two days in our Wakefield head office.
