Principal Antenna Engineer And Capability Lead

Our client, a leading company in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Antenna Engineer and Capability Lead to join their Business.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test innovative antenna and RF product solutions, considering emerging technologies
• Conduct electromagnetic simulations and analysis to optimise antenna performance
• Support the development of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and analysis software
• Analyse, review, and substantiate requirements with customers
• Drive the test, characterisation, and verification of prototype and product designs, ensuring qualification and requirements compliance
• Represent the team and business unit in customer and internal stakeholder interactions
• Manage bids, develop concept designs, and generate technical proposals to drive new business
• Create and maintain project plans, providing status updates for stakeholders
• Set clear objectives and provide support and mentorship to the Antenna Design Team

Job Requirements

• Degree in a relevant Engineering field
• Experience in leading and managing high-performance teams with senior stakeholder interaction
• Strong theoretical and practical RF design experience
• Proficiency in RF principles, transmission line theory, and antenna theory
• Expertise in using electromagnetic simulation software (e.g., CST MWS, FEKO, HFSS)
• Experience with RF test and measurement equipment such as Vector Network Analysers and Spectrum Analysers
• Significant experience in antenna design and knowledge of active/passive RF and microwave circuit design
• Experience with antenna test ranges/anechoic chambers
• Design for Manufacture and Assembly experience is desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and PC skills
