Business Development Manager – Partnerships (New Business Hunter)
Remote with one day per week in their Newbury office | £45,000–£50,000 + £80k+ OTE (Uncapped)
If you’re a proper new business hunter, the type who enjoys opening doors, building relationships from scratch, and getting deals moving, then this is worth a look.
This isn’t a “manage and maintain” role.
This is about building something.
The Opportunity
My client is doubling down on growth.
They’ve recognised a gap, too much focus on managing existing partners, not enough on bringing new ones in.
So they’re creating a dedicated acquisition role focused purely on:
- Identifying and winning net-new partners
- Getting them live and generating revenue
- Then handing them over once they’re up and running
Success isn’t measured on signings.
It’s measured on partners actually trading within 90 days.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Targeting and winning partners across telecoms, accountancy, FM and wider commercial sectors
- Running the full sales cycle… outreach → pitch → close → onboarding
- Building a pipeline with real intent (not just activity for activity’s sake)
- Delivering onboarding that gets partners live quickly
- Driving early wins and momentum before handing over to the wider team
You’ll also have:
- Inbound support (4–5 leads per month)
- A clear structure and proposition to take to market
- A business that actually delivers once you open the door
What “Good” Looks Like
- ~50 quality outbound calls per day
- 10 new partners onboarded per month
- Partners actively generating opportunities within 90 days
Why This Role Stands Out
- Pure hunter role… no split focus, no distractions
- Uncapped earning potential with clear link to revenue
- Commission paid on real outcomes (activated partners)
- Exposure to high-value deals (including enterprise-level opportunities)
- Clear path to build and lead a team as the function grows
What They’re Looking For
- Proven track record in new business / partner acquisition / BD
- Comfortable engaging owners, CEOs and commercial leaders
- Strong commercial mindset… you know how to qualify properly
- Structured, disciplined, and consistent in your approach
- Someone who wants to win, not just participate
Backgrounds that work well:
- Telecoms (ideal)
- Energy / utilities (a plus)
- SaaS / financial services (if you’re hands-on and realistic on base)
