We are a global healthcare communications and marketing agency that partners with leading pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences organizations to solve complex challenges and drive meaningful impact.

The Role

Real Chemistry is seeking a senior leader to drive and scale enterprise‑wide growth across our U.S. and international healthcare portfolio. The Head of Global Business Development will lead the vision, strategy, and operating model for new business and organic growth across capabilities, markets, and client segments. This U.S. hybrid role is based in or near one of our U.S. hubs and reports to the Head of Business Strategy and Growth. The position is a key member of the growth leadership team, accountable for opportunity expansion, win‑rate performance, and the evolution of Real Chemistry’s go‑to‑market approach.

What You’ll Do

Oversee Global Business Development

  • Own and evolve Real Chemistry’s enterprise business development strategy, aligning growth priorities to market opportunity, client needs, and capability strengths.
  • Provide executive leadership for integrated RFx, consolidations, and proactive pursuits, ensuring responses are integrated, differentiated, and commercially compelling.
  • Guide pitch strategy, structure, and storytelling for the firm’s most critical and complex opportunities.
  • Partner with Client Leads and Capability Leaders to unlock organic growth within existing accounts.
  • Connect capabilities and teams across U.S. and global business development efforts to ensure integrated, cohesive, and differentiated points of view.

Build Scalable Processes & Operating Models

  • Evolve and implement scalable business development processes, tools, and governance models across markets and capabilities.
  • Establish consistent standards for prioritization, resourcing, workflow management, and post‑pitch learning.
  • Drive data‑informed decision‑making through performance tracking, win‑loss analysis, and market intelligence.

Lead, Inspire, and Develop Teams

  • Lead and develop a matrixed, hybrid business development organization, working with senior growth leaders and cross‑functional contributors.
  • Build a high‑performing, inclusive culture focused on mentorship, capability uplift, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a connector—aligning matrixed teams across geographies, disciplines, and leadership levels.

Serve as a Senior Executive Partner

  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership to shape enterprise strategy, positioning, and long‑term growth planning.
  • Represent Real Chemistry externally with senior clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Anticipate market shifts and competitive dynamics, ensuring Real Chemistry remains ahead of evolving client needs.

What You Bring

  • 15+ years of experience in an integrated marketing, communications, or advertising agency environment with deep healthcare industry expertise.
  • Proven success leading large enterprise‑level business development and growth functions.
  • Extensive experience driving high‑value, complex pitches and long‑cycle growth initiatives.
  • Ability to navigate across complex hybrid organizations and markets to centralize and coordinate business development efforts.
  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing, communications, medical, digital, and activation capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and unify complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing, and executive‑level presentation skills.
  • Experience partnering with C‑suite and senior executives on growth and transformation initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working across disciplines.
  • Comfort using performance metrics, reporting tools, and market insights to inform strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience in hybrid team leadership, capability development, and organizational implementation.

Pay Range – $250,000‑275,000 (at the time of posting).
