We are looking for a Paediatric Physiotherapist with significant clinical experience at a senior grade to provide professional and clinical leadership to our dedicated team.
Job Overview
Provide clinical leadership and expertise for the Physiotherapy service in the Children & Families Division, improving care for patients and taking an active role in the clinical forums within the Division.
Maintain a clinical professional overview for physiotherapists and advise and work closely with Service Managers on staffing deployment across the city within available resources.
Identify clinical priorities, set and monitor standards for clinical practice, patient‑centred care planning, and ensure the team has the right skills and support to deliver a high-quality service.
Promote and facilitate a research and audit culture within the profession, ensuring proposals are discussed and approval sought via appropriate clinical routes.
Act as a clinical specialist for Physiotherapy, providing expert opinion and knowledge within the specialist area for clinical colleagues and other professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead clinical and professional development of the physiotherapy team.
- Set and monitor clinical standards, protocols and quality measures.
- Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary and external agencies to improve patient care.
- Champion research, audit and evidence‑based practice.
- Provide expert clinical input and oversight in complex cases.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy.
- Professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
- Advanced qualification such as a Masters or postgraduate certification in an area of clinical expertise.
- Significant clinical experience, including audit and/or research.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Experience
- Relevant clinical supervision/teaching experience.
- Extensive experience working with children.
- Experience working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Experience with other agencies, including schools.
- Staff support and management experience.
- Experience engaging people who are socially excluded, disabled or disadvantaged.
Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge and understanding of Equality and Diversity issues.
- Competent in clinical leadership and ability to lead change.
- Good working knowledge of Clinical Governance principles and risk/performance management.
- Competent in use of relevant IT systems.
- Knowledge of the goals, vision and values of the Division and the Trust.

- Proven written and oral communication skills, including the ability to handle sensitive situations.
- Effective pressure management and resilience.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment.
